Goa Baga Beach

Baga Beach is the king of all the beaches in Goa. It is the most happening beach of Goa. Baga beach, known as fishing beach, is situated between Colva beach and the Calangute beach. It is a part of beach coastline extended along the west coast of Goa. Baga beach offers calm and serene ambience away from the hustle bustle of the city. Majestic white waves, sandy beach surrounded by fringed palm trees provides you the fascinating view of the beach that entralls you completely. It is surrounded by the Arabian Sea to the west. For accommodation, there are so many luxury resorts available such as La Bagaa Beach Resort, Colonia Santa Maria, Cavala Resort, La Calypso Paradiso Gateway Resorts. You can also many reasonable as well as high rated hotels near the beach. If you want to stay here for long, many reasonable as well as affordable hotels are a good option with the necessary amenities available. There  are beach shacks, roof top restaurants and cafes serving you nice Goan Cuisine and fresh seafood to tickle your taste buds. Main attraction of the Baga beach is its water sports activities, fishing and dolphin watching.

Baga is a small beach, 10 km west of Mapusa between the more famous Colva Beach on one side and Calangute on the other. It is ideal for a relaxed, quiet time if you don't like the hustle and bustle of Colva or Calangute. This fishing beach attracts many international tourists and domestic visitors to its brown sands and is known for its lively nightlife. The Baga river flows on one side and the groves of palms lining the water's edge create the perfect holiday atmosphere. The beach has the best range of restaurants in Goa - from standard beach shacks to swish pizzerias and gorgeous terrace cafes.

Overlooking the village and the Arabian Sea, the Baga Retreat House at the Baga hilltop is dedicated to St. Francis Xavier. This was earlier known as the Casa de Retiros. The beach can be visited at any time of the year, though the monsoon months, which bring heavy rains, are best avoided. The period from November to February is the most pleasant.

How To Reach :
Panaji is just 8 km away from Baga beach. You can take regular bus service from Panaji to Mapusa. Nearest railway station is Kamali, so you can also board a train to reach. If you want to go by road, take cars, cabs or two wheelers from Panaji, Airport and Mapusa as available.
