Benaulim Beach

Location : 2 km from Colva beach, South Goa.
Attractions : Dolphin Cruises, Fishing. |
Five minutes south of Colva is a prominent village, now a
popular tourist destination. Benaulim is known for its
coconuts and as a place where you can still see a rural Goa
relatively untouched by tourism. Some consider this a
mid-way point between the overcrowded package-tourist
destinations and the near-deserted beaches such as Varca or
Agonda. It lies in the midst of the long beach between Vasco
and Mobor. Legend has it that Parshuram shot his arrow into
the sea at Benaulim, and reclaimed the land here.
On both sides of the beach the sand stretches for miles. The
south is the quieter side. In the tourist season, you'll
find the beach dotted with shacks and colourful umbrellas.
Hardly any nightlife here, with only a few party places
close to the beach. There's little or none of the techno
party frenzy of North Goa. Entertainment usually consists of
an evening with a CD player or an acoustic guitar. Benaulim
is popular with German and Austrian travellers.
Very quiet and calm Benaulim beach is situated at a distance of 2 km from Colva beach in South Goa. Benaulim beach is popular for fishing but still it is not so much travelled by domestic tourist. It gets mobbed by tourists during the evenings and on weekends. Locale also visits here frequently to relax and satisfy themselves. There are some food joints serving you snacks and drinks. Moreover, you do not need to bother yourself as their assistants roam for orders and serve you at your place. So just sit, relax and get away from all of your worries. Hawaii Shacks serves you fresh seafood here. It is safe for swimming.
How To Reach :
Bus service is available from Margao, Colva, Varca, Cavelossim and Mobor to Maria Hall crossroads every 30 minutes.
