Calangute beach, also known as Queen of beaches, is one of the most famous beaches of Goa. It is located on the coast of North Goa by Arabian Sea. Calangute beach was found by the hippies in late 60s. Tourist came to this small Indian state to enjoy the exotic beauty of this beach.

Calangute beach is generally stuffed with people having fun near the Arabian Sea. You can indulge in water sports such as parasailing, water skiing and wind surfing at the Calangute beach.

From the town, the road have Kashmiri-run handicraft boutiques and Tibetian stalls where you can shop for Himalayan curios and jewellery. Good quality Rajasthani, Gujrati and Karnatakan Textiles are also available here but you can also get the same stuff at weekly Anjuna Flea Wednesday Market. For food, restaurants and bars are lined up near the entrance of the beach serving mouth watering cuisine and seafood. It also serves you vegetarian dishes too. Some beach shacks and food stalls are also there to enjoy good sea food at Calangute beach.

Kerkar Art Gallery located near Calangute beach presents paintings and sculptures of talented and upcoming artists of Goa. It also introduce a weekly night of Indian Dance and music. Church of St. Alex, located on the CHOGM Road, displays a perfect example of Goan architecture.

Calangute beach is just 45 minutes drive away from Panaji. You can easily take bus service from Panaji to reach Calangute.
