Dona Paula is one of the popular tourist destination located 7 km from Panaji, the capital of Goa. It is located at the place where Arabian Sea meets famous rivers of Goa. Cemetery (1799-1813) which was built during the Napoleonic Wars
when British troops entered Goa under the pretext of defending
this region from a possible French invasion. Historians argue

Three kilometres further along the Marine Road, Dona Paula
is where the Governor of Goa lives. The gubernatorial
residence is open to public for a few days of the year; one
can get a scenic view from the point just before the Cabo
Raj Nivas' entrance. Don't believe the myth that tour guides
belt out over how this place got its name. Tour guides with
odd-shaped telescopes will point out the various spots where
a ramge of Hindi films were shot.
