Dabolim Airport is the only airport in Goa. It acts as a military as well as civilian airport located in Dabolim Village of Goa, India. It is located just 4 km away from Vasco Da Gama City, about 1.5 km from Chicalim bus stop and 29 km from Panaji, the capital of Goa. Dabolim Airport is spread over an area of 688 hectares (1700 acres). It is providing services to both Domestic and International Airlines. There are two terminal buildings in the Airport : Domestic Terminal and International Terminal. The domestic terminal is stretched over an area of 2000 sq.m. (22000 sq ft) with a capacity of 350 arrivals and departures concurrently.
Dabolim Airport is connected to major cities of India such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Cochin, Jaipur etc. Following airlines are connected to Dabolim Airport : Air India, Indian Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines, Go Air, Jet Airways, Spice Jet, MDLR Airlines. Besides these, Dabolim Airport also provides its service to Chartered Flights. The international terminal of the Airport is designed for 250 arrivals and departures together. International flights are occasional. These flights are operated only by Air India and Indian Airlines to the Persian Gulf. Generally the charter flights are the only way to reach Goa by foreigners. These charter flights are available to and from UK, Russia etc. Air Italy Polska, Arkefly, Novair and Thomson are the charter flights flying to Goa. After reaching the airport, you can take taxis, buses, trains etc. to reach the destined place. Prepaid taxis are also available.
