Goa, a famous tourist destination of India, is a quite relaxing, entertaining and pleasant place to enjoy your holidays in Goa. Goa is one of the safest places of India for women travelers. Cases of sexual harassment and eve teasing are not much to consider as a threat to the safety of women. There are frequent opportunities to come and meet with local goan women. There is still some cultural differences exist especially in those areas where tourism is not much developed. It is considered as an unacceptable behaviour to touch a goan women.   • Beware of Stranger men, your friendly attitude with these stranger men can harm you. As the Indian conservative surroundings can create trouble for you if you are so much friendly.
  • Don’t wear appealing clothes and try to wear loose fitting clothes without any exposure.
  • Now the swimsuits and bikinis are acceptable especially if wear with a sarong in the coastal resorts over the past two to three decades. Topless bathing is completely out of the view question here.
  • Beaches are the only place that invites sexual harassment and eve teasing. It is advisable to avoid verbal comments and ignore them completely. But if somebody touches you, you must react in the usual English language. In a crowded area, shouting “Don’t Touch Me” will be just enough to find people on your side and your assailant ashamed on himself.
  • While traveling in a public transport alone, it is best to sit with women as there are separate ladies seats in most of the buses.
  • You can be a part of beach parties in Goa to fun and frolic during your holidays but it is advisable to avoid rave parties during midnight. Avoid street parties too as there are no women in these parties. Go with a group of friends, if really want to enjoy in these parties.
  • It is advisable to avoid isolated places to swim, sunbathe and shop.
  • If you are traveling in local trains, best to book special women bogies in the train.
You can spend some of your valuable time with local women here as this can be a delightful conversation but the only hindrance is that not much women can speak English here. Generally the shops and guesthouses are owned by women, so you can meet them here and in the public transport as well.
